Samper to leave Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History

Cristian Samper , the director of the National Museum of Natural History since 2003, announced Monday he is leaving the Smithsonian. Samper, 46, a internationally-known conservation biologist, will become president and CEO of the Wildlife Conservation Society, which is headquartered at the Bronx Zoo in New York City.
