Open Question: How do I find out if I have an original Richard Newton Jr. painting?

I have Richard Newton Jr.s "Stable of Champions". I had it appraised by two people and both said its real, but I am very skeptical. Someone told me the original is hanging in a museum in New York. I don't know how to look this up. Does anyone know a way I can find out if the original really is in a museum or if it is hanging in my living room. Like I said I have had two people look at it and both say its real so please don't tell me to take it to someone.
